Welcome to Gold Country Inn
Gold Country Inn, located at 24112 A St, Beale AFB, California, offers a straightforward and practical lodging option for travelers seeking close proximity to Beale Air Force Base and nearby attractions like the Hard Rock Casino. With a rating of 3.6, this inn delivers a blend of basic comfort and attentive service, catering especially well to military personnel and budget-conscious visitors.
The rooms, while clean and efficient, carry a dated charm—a quality noted by several guests. One reviewer pointed out issues with climate control but also appreciated the simple, effective solutions provided, such as a fan and open windows. Another guest likened the secondary lodging, Tranquil Buttes, to a “time capsule,” highlighting the nostalgic yet functional ambiance of the accommodations.
Gold Country Inn is best known for its reliable and welcoming staff. Manager Gina and her team consistently go beyond expectations, creating a supportive environment especially valued by long-term guests on active duty. Their attentiveness leaves a lasting positive impression, making the inn feel like a home away from home despite its modest facilities.
While the inn does not offer a pool, restaurant, or fitness center, it provides essential amenities like free Wi-Fi, free parking, and accessibility features, making it kid-friendly and convenient for various traveler needs. Dining options nearby are limited, with most local spots closing early, so guests are encouraged to plan accordingly or utilize frozen meals available on-site.
The location’s strength lies in its ease of access to Beale AFB and recreational activities in the region, appealing to visitors focused on sightseeing and mobility rather than resort-style leisure. Gold Country Inn’s honest simplicity and service-driven experience shine through, delivering a welcoming stay grounded in practicality and warmth.

The room was clean, no issues with cleanest. The only issue that I had was that I was unable to turn down the heat in the room. Thank God they placed a fan inside the room and that I was able to open the window. Don't asume that the room is near the checking office. I stayed there because I wanted to be closer to the Hard Rock Casino
I stayed here for one night since it was the only affordable option in the area and I needed to catch a morning flight in Sacramento. We checked in at the main lobby and was told we would be staying in Tranquil Buttes, which is another lodging building down the road. Tranquil Buttes is a very standard lodging building that I compared to a time capsule. The rooms are very dated, but it was surprising to see that it came with the standard amenities of a modern hotel room. Wifi, hairdryer, ice machine, vending machines, free laundry. Not many people stayed here when we did, so it was nearly deserted. There isn't a lot to do at Beale, and food places close early. We arrived at 7:30 PM on Saturday night, and all of the restaurants on base were closed. The only food options were in town, which would've been a 15-30 minute drive each way.
Safe place. It's a long way to get onto base. Most places close by 7pm so plan dinner accordingly. They have frozen meals that can be purchased at the check-in location.
The staff is always helpful and welcoming. I stayed at the TLF for about 6months on an AD tour with the clinic. They were very accommodating provided excellent service. The manager Ms. Gina ensures that guests are well taken care of and trains her staff to go above and beyond! I look forward to staying with them again.
